The Centre for the Study of Theory and Criticism is an established forum for interdisciplinary research and advanced study into theoretical problems and practices, offering both a Master’s and Doctoral program. Research at the Centre focuses on the work of such movements as Deconstruction, Social and Political Thought, Continental Philosophy, Psychoanalysis, Visual Culture, Marxist Theory, Post-Humanist Theory, Linguistics and Rhetorical Theory, 18th & 19th Century Philosophy and History of Thought. Core faculty are derived from the areas of Anthropology, Comparative Literature, English, Film, French, Global Studies, Media Studies, Modern Languages, Philosophy, Political Science, Religious Studies, Sociology, and Women’s Studies. The Centre hosts a number of events including specialized seminars, conferences, speaker series, and an active program of lectures and colloquia.
