21st Annual Southern Appalachian Undergraduate Philosophy Conference

The Liberal Arts Campus of the University of North Carolina
February 7-8, 2020
Our symposium provides a professional style philosophical forum for aspiring undergraduates to present significant and original work. All papers will be evaluated by blind review process. At the conference, judges from universities with important graduate programs will determine prizes for the top three presentations [1st place–$175; 2nd place–$125; 3rd place–$100].
We are honored to announce our judges and keynote speakers this year will be: Dr. Daniela Vallega-Neu [University of Oregon]
Dr. Jay L. Garfield [Smith College]
Please submit each of the following as three separate MS Word files to ddavis@unca.edu:
- a paper
- an abstract
- a separate cover sheet with name and affiliation
Papers on any philosophical topic are welcome. Papers should be designed for a 20-minute presentation time [approximately 10 standard double-spaced pages]. The paper should not contain the author’s name or institutional affiliation.
Abstracts should be attached to the paper, should be one paragraph, double-spaced, no more than 150 words. These abstracts should not contain the author’s name or institutional affiliation.
Cover sheets should be on a separate sheet, and should contain the title of the paper, the author’s name, and the author’s institutional affiliation, address, e-mail address, and phone number.
Submissions must be received by FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 22, 2019 Participants will be notified soon after Monday December 9, 2019
