The Heidegger Circle invites submissions of papers and proposals of panels on any aspect of Heidegger’s thought.
Paper submissions: The papers – to be included, if accepted, in the Proceedings of the annual meeting – should not exceed 4000 words (excluding 150-word abstract, footnotes, and references), with a reading time of 30 minutes (or approximately 75% of the written text). Papers should be prepared for blind review and submitted with a separate cover sheet that includes contact information (e-mail suffices) and affiliation if applicable. Authors who submit papers to the Heidegger Circle annual meeting are welcome to revise and expand their essays and submit them to Gatherings: The Heidegger Circle Annual.
Panel proposals: Panels include three presenters each making a brief (approximately ten minute) presentation on the panel topic, allowing significant time for discussion. Panel proposals should include (a) the panel title and a 150-word abstract of the panel topic, and (b) the titles and a 150-word gloss for each panelist’s comments. These proposals should be prepared for blind review with a separate cover sheet including contact information (e-mail suffices), names, and affiliations of the panelists.
Formatting: submissions should be single-spaced, 12 point font size, Times New Roman font, 1” margins on all sides, footnotes (10 point font), no endnotes, in .doc or .docx version (no PDFs, please).
Please send submissions/proposals to Ben Crowe (bcrowe@bu.edu) with the words “HC 2023 submission” in the Subject line. Deadline for paper submissions and panel proposals: January 15. Please direct any other inquiries to D. Dahlstrom (dahlstro@bu.edu), Dept. of Philosophy, Boston University, Boston, MA 02215.
