CFP: Forgotten Philosophers (and why we should remember them); Marquette University Graduate Philosophy Conference

The Marquette Philosophy Graduate Student Association invites submissions for our 2017 annual spring conference. The theme of this year’s conference is “Forgotten Philosophers (and why we should remember them.” A “forgotten philosopher” is a philosopher whose work has been typically neglected, ignored, marginalized, or has simply fallen out of favor in the contemporary philosophical context. The category itself is open to interpretation. Our hope for this year’s conference is to give graduate students the opportunity to share their research on figures that are no longer generally appreciated. In particular, we want to give up-and-coming researchers a chance to show why their philosopher of choice is worthy of attention today. We encourage submissions about any tradition or period of historical philosophy.
