CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The Middle Atlantic States Philosophy of Education Society (MASPES) will hold its 2012 Annual Meeting at Teachers College, Columbia University, Saturday, February 11th.
The Program Committee invites paper and panel presentation proposals that 1) explore a broad range of topics relevant to philosophy of education, including its various historical, social, cultural, and political dimensions; and 2) address the prospect for the philosophical study of education in today’s climate, both inside and outside the academy.
All proposals should be sent in electronic form as an e-mail attachment and adhere to the guidelines listed below. Please send your proposals no later than October 15, 2011 to the Program Chair, Shilpi Sinha at Sinha2c@gmail.com
At this time we would also like to encourage those who wish to serve as a reviewer and/or session chair to please contact the Program Chair.
Guidelines for Proposals
Each proposal must be sent as a single Word document. Each proposal should include the following, separated by a page break:
- A one-page cover sheet that lists the title of the paper/panel. The cover sheet should also include the name(s), affiliation(s), and contact information of the presenter(s). Please include e-mail address, telephone number, and fax number.
- An abstract of the proposed paper/panel presentation which summarizes the paper’s/panel’s focus, overall argument, and rationale. Abstracts should be limited to 75-100 words.
- A 500-700 word proposal which describes the paper’s/panel’s topic, theoretical sources, argument, and justification.
