Studies in Medical Philosophy (SMP) book series at ibidem Verlag (http://sphr-bg.org/83.html) aims at putting philosophy and medicine in the perspective of interdependence: The series provides opportunity both to views which discuss how medicine can benefit from philosophy and to those showing how philosophy is able to be enriched by medicine. The possible need of philosophy in medicine will be searched in terms of elucidation and stimulation of certain aspects of medical research and clinical practice by philosophical heritage such as ethics, epistemology, logic, ontology, social philosophy, and philosophical anthropology. On the other hand, medicine is believed to be a valuable and unique resource of individual cases and statistical tendencies for reflection and further conclusions in philosophical fields. SMP is open to various philosophical approaches, but the editors hope to encourage especially the involvement of authors within the phenomenological movement.
