The International Society for Universal Dialogue is seeking submissions for its XI World Congress to be held in Warsaw, Poland July 11—15, 2016. ISUD invites abstracts of papers and proposals for panels consistent with the theme “Values and Ideals: Theory and Praxis.” The deadline for submission of abstracts is February 1, 2016.
The goal of this World Congress is to explore the role of ideals and values across a wide spectrum of theoretical and practical issues. We wish to investigate the role of ideals and values in social and political life, in the formation of personal and cultural identities, in science and art as well as in moral reasoning and practice. We also hope to promote discussion on the epistemic grounds of moral judgments and the ontological underpinnings of moral discourse. ISUD is committed to promoting philosophical discourse intended to encourage the emergence of a more decent and humane world.
ISUD is especially interested in papers that address the following themes:
1. Dialogue on the Issues of the Contemporary World
2. Philosophical Ideals for a More Decent Human World
3. Cultures – Their Ideals and Values
4. Ecophilosophy for the Human and More Than Human World
5. Ideals and Values in Social and Political Life – from Theory to Praxis
6. Ideals and Values in Religion and Myth
7. Ideals and Values in Art
8. Cognitive Values and Ideals and the Value of Science
9. Human Values and Ideals. Their Role in Personal and Cultural Identities
10. Moral Systems and Moral Practices
ISUD is pleased to announce that we will award $1500 Jens Jacobsen Research Prizes for the ten most outstanding papers presented at the 2016 ISUD World Congress.
Please send proposals in Word format by email to Professor Emiliya Taysina at emily_tajsin@inbox.ru. Notice of selection will arrive by March 1, 2016.
